First and foremost, like many others on this list, I have become a
PROponent of stereoscopic imagery.  It is difficult to describe the level
of enthusiasm and optimism that I have for the medium as an artist.

When I first discovered stereo photography, I thought I had stumbled into a
great business opportunity.  In the two years since, I've nearly bankrupted
myself trying to make a business of it - big mistake.  But in the interim I
discovered it to be the ideal artistic medium for me.  I am satisfied and
very happy with the artistic opportunities and recognition that I am
receiving.

The upshot: where I used to think (as an intellectual capitalist) that new
ideas in stereoscopy needed to be protected, so that only I (as the
creator) could profit from them, now I have learned something quite
different: stereo as a medium needs all the help it can get!  I will never
succeed as an artist in the medium, until the medium itself gets some
positive recognition.

As such, if I can help others to improve their stereoscopic presentation,
that can only help my own efforts with the medium.  A rising tide lifts all
boats... reasonable self-interest benefits the whole community.  Atlas

So it's not really altruism after all...  but it is genuine warmth!
