P3D showing work in galleries

You can see a photo of maybe the strangest stereo viewer ever put in in a
gallery at:

http://www.interaccess.org/arg/spaceprobe/statements.html#Cruickshank-Whaley

This was built by Wendy Whaley and myself, and had wire mesh tentacles
terminating in fun-fur covered stereo viewers. (the ones that used to be
called 3 dollar viewers, now somthing like $3.50) Light was provided by
chopped off flashlight heads, with power run down through the tentacles.
People relly enjoyed picking up the tentacles an and looking in- much more
fun than a box with two holes in it!
The problems were that the light sources shifted around a lot, it was
hared to get even illumination. Also flashlight bulbs are not meant to run
24 hours a day, the glue holding the bulb to the base breaks down very
quickly, and the bulbs also blacken and burn out with great regularity.
I've seen little pocket fluorescent lamps lately, I would use these if i
did this again.
