P3D Re: Questions

OK, now I have read the official instructions distributed by Ron and
I realize that this is how I have been doing it, without knowing of
any instructions. Briefly:
- Place the lens cover over the companion piece and flip over.
- Put the spring into place and push the main body with the flat
tip of a screwdriver until you hear it snapping in place. Done!
The companion piece is the bakelite piece with the shutter speed ring
in it that you have to remove from the camera. I set the speed at 1
sec before removing it and remember to set the dial back to 1 sec before
puting it back.
Two words of CAUTION:
- Be careful not to break the tabs of the cover that hold the springs.
That's how the covers fail. If you break these tabs, you need a new
cover.
- Be careful not to break the companion piece at the two thin ends.
Handle it very carefully if outside the camera.
(I have made both mistakes at various times, so I speak from first hand
experience! :-))
