Larry, I'm not an expert, and even if I were, I'd raise
the ire of the group by getting very detailed. But grain
and resolution are not correlated 1-1. I read something
about this in a book about film, but it was too long ago
and a little too technical for me to remember. (I cited
the book on this list a time or two, but can't recall the
name; sorry!)

Someone here has given stats in the past about the resolving
power of stereo cameras of the '50s. My recollection is
that Velvia exceeds the resolving power of those lenses,
but perhaps I'm mistaken. I am curious as to where the
cutoff falls. Those folks shooting RBTs and the like might
find the cutoff falls at a different point.
