P3D Real-world fusion

I have used both cross-eye and wall-eye free-viewing to compare two versions
of a manual. As a graphic designer, I have to compare the proof of a
document with the approved version we sent them and note any changes. I've
gotten very good at putting the two pieces side by side and free-viewing to
find differences. It even works with 8.5 x 11 pages, since I'll overlap the
two pages and freeview the left side, then swap and freeview the right side.

It works so well that even if the text kerning (the minute space between
letters or words) changes even a little bit, the words just float up or
recede into the page. Weird! And missing items seem to flash.

I've used this technique weekly for years. I can cross-eye-view items that
are 12-14 inches apart when held at arm's length.

Just now I tried to *parallel-view* my ruler, held at arm's length. I was
able to easily fuse 4 inches of separation, and can momentarily get it to 5
inches, but my eyeballs hurt afterwards. So I'm actually diverging my eyes.
The things I do for this company!
