P3D Re: Nimslo Underexposure
Thanks to all who responded on the Nimslo exposure problems. The root
of it _does_ seem to be the color response of the photocell, and
that blue filter idea sounds intriguing--use that over the cell instead
of setting the EI to 100. Now I just have to find the right shade of
blue....
Any more ideas would be welcome!
There were some nice shots on the roll, too--notably the interior of
the Amtrak station at Prince, West Virginia. This was handheld on
Kodachrome 200, and would have been impossible without the Nimslo's
30mm lenses. The building's architecture is reminiscent of Frank
Lloyd Wright--nothing at all like a typical railroad station, and
has a lovely cathedral ceiling. I'll be taking pictures of it for a
long time, I hope. It's on West Virginia 41 (old U.S. 19) between
Beckley and Summersville, at the bottom of the New River Gorge, for
those who are interested. I also got a beautiful shot of the through
truss bridge crossing the river, using the Olympus OM-10 and beamsplitter.
The 50mm lens really pulls in the view through the bridge. That one
is on Kodachrome 64.
