P3D Re: Sigma Mounts

Welcome back! I got into stereo 2 years before you got out so I can
fill you in the developments in these years.

As far as I know, this never happened. The closer we got was with
the EMDE mounts. Dennis Sherwood bought the dies and produced them
again. He had plans to change the dies to put a channel, like the
Realist or Sigma mounts. That did not happen. Dennis got out of the
stereo market and, as far as I know, the dies are still available for
sale.

But, during these 9 years, we had the Albion mounts. In my opinion,
these are better than the Realist mounts. I was "forced" to shitch
to them after Reel 3-D stopped carrying the EMDE mounts. I am glad
I did... The Albion mounts are made of aluminum and have channels to
slide the chips, like the Realist mounts. In some respects they
work better. I still use them to preview all my slides.

Finally, today we also have the RBT plastic mounts and the Spicer
cardboard mounts that we did not have 9 years ago. It is worth
getting a few samples of each to see what you like. Dalia, 3-D
Concepts and Rocky Mountain Memories carry these. They are all
in the Interent.

Not as far as I know... John Slivon has a prototype of a similar
concept in his web page... I am not sure if he is ready to market
this...

Needless to say, all these subjects are discussed in my Realist
book :-)
