I looked in one briefly when it was passed around at the VM
meeting at the convention. It was not nearly as bad as I had
expected, based on seeing those "protruding wings." Still, as
an eyeglass wearer, I wish I could get closer to the lenses to
see the entire image.

The Discovery viewer was also passed around at the meeting.
It is a combination binocular/VM viewer. The reel sits
horizontally on top of the viewer, and a lever switches
between reel viewing and binocular mode. While ingenious
in concept, this viewer was utterly useless as a reel viewer,
based on my experience with it. I could not view the images
at all. An eyeglass wearing lady seated next to me had the
same conclusion.
