P3D Kodachrome + -_

I've shot dozens of rolls of Kodachrome 64 and here is what I think.
Outdated Kodachrome ( over 1 year expiration) appears to be unstable.
One roll looks good, the next will color shift or appear lackluster. I
have not noticed any particular pattern. Why I quit using Kodachrome:
1) Kodak processing cannot provide quality on a consistant level,
sometimes the film is scratched, returned partially cut, rolled in a
film cannister, folded in a box etc. No care is taken for uncut film
requests.
2) Cannot process 2 hour. 3) Majenta / green casting on shots that
count. ( of course )
4) Very flat, lackluster film ( although a very tonal sensitive film, it
does not enhance well projected) I prefer dynamic colors
5) Color shifting if over / under exposed.
6) It is archival....I want my images to deteriorate as I
will...besides, I cannot revel in my past....I want to keep shooting!
:-)
Merits of Kodachrome:
1) Very tonally sensitive, accurate color renditions ( most of the time)
Not too contrasty.
2) Very long time exposures ( at /near reciprocity failure) creates
beautiful magenta and purple tones that enhance night pictures. Most of
the green cast will shift to these colors.
3) A cool number for a film speed huh? 64 sounds so precise. A good film
speed to throw around while talking to novices. :-)
