Careful, Bob, some misinformation here. Projected Kodachrome deteriorates MUCH
more rapidly than some other projected E6 emulsions, and the blanket statement
that film must be used and processed before it expires doesn't work, either.
It all depends upon the emulsion, the storage history and the application.
Expiration dates for cumsumer films assume no refrigeration whatsoever and
they can very comfortably be extended beyond what's indicated on the box by
this means.
I think it's interesting that this all started with the statement Doc T made
that you can sometimes catch magenta in the highlights of Kodachrome (which
you can!). Different folks key in on different anomolies I guess... I
personally find the overall orange illumination of viewers and projection to
be much more noticable and objectionable than that, and one constantly gets
different color "splash" from reflected light off of all sorts of
compositional elements with color films, to which I am also more sensitive...
but to each there own!
