To ascertain the exposure for Fuji CDU Type II duping film, you must make
tests and make detailed notes. It's true that there are no hints as to the
speed of the film on the container. That's what discussion groups are for.

I also had this same dilemma a couple of months ago and I emailed several
friends who were using this film. They all suggested that you start around
10 ASA and work up from there.

It depends on your duping rig. Mine is a Bowens Illumitran 3. I bracketed
at 1/2 stop intervals from f.4 to f.22 and arrived at f.8 as the optimum
setting. By comparison, I also did some duping using Fuji Sensia 100 ASA
slide film and its exposure was correct at f.16 with the illuminating flash
at the same position and setting. Therefore you could conclude that the
duping film is around 25 ASA **FOR THAT BATCH**. Remember that your
exposure will be influenced by the amount of magnification, colour
correction filters used, ambient light when duping and contrast control
settings (if any).

Do not be hesitant about making test rolls. In the long run, the Fuji
duping film is absolutely fantastic giving very sharp results that are
indistinguishable from the original in projection or the hand viewer. I do
not make this claim lightly. Remember that when you change film batches,
you should redo your tests.

Hope this helps.

David Stuckey
