Actually, I do use a slide duplicating tube to make 2D prints of 3D
slides. I had an insert that I made from balsa wood that would hold the
Realist format centered in the slide holder. It did a great job
duplicating several slides that my grandfather took back when I was
"just a twinkle in my parent's eyes" :-).
I sent a bunch of the prints to my aunt as a Christmas present along
with a Hallmark ornament in the shape of a push-pedal fire truck similar
to one she got for Christmas (yes, there were several slides showing
this truck!). She was thrilled to receive the prints as her father died
not too long after that. And, there was even a picture of him that came
out pretty good.
I know he'd be proud of my current 3D efforts!
