Hi, Ron! I just want to spike this rumor before it proliferates on the
internet. I own a Digital-8 camera, the Sony DCR-TRV103, and it works
just fine with interlaced stereo. It does NOT output progressive scan
video images. In order for ANY camcorder to produce a video image
viewable on an American TV set, it MUST output the NTSC standard, which
is an interlaced image, regardless of whether it is monitored live; or
recorded in VHS, S-VHS, Beta, 8mm, Hi-8, or Digital format; or
demodulated from an RF signal from a TV channel. The end result, the
output to the TV, is always the same -- an NTSC standard signal (or PAL
standard in Europe).

Cordially,
Oliver Dean
