When I saw the shape of the Sony VX1000's lens I thought
it would produce a lot of vignetting. I tried using the
Nu-View on a Sony V701 using a 42mm to 37mm step down ring
and had a lot of vignetting. Hayden Baldwin had a similar
experience with a full size Panasonic PV750 camcorder. The
vignetting problem on these large lens opening models
severely restricts your ability to use wide angle. So you
need to step back rather than zoom out when you record.
The adapter seems best suited for the "snub-nose" 8, Hi8,
or C-VHS camcorders with 37mm lens threads, or similarly
shaped digital camcorders.

The good news is that the Nu-View works great with
Digital 8 camcorders. I initially jumped to the
conclusion that it did not work after having problems
recording in stereo under low light, and because two
reputable sources said it might not work.

The Nu-View work very well with Digital 8 camcorders!

Also, if you are concerned about the vignetting, the
TRV103 has almost no vignetting. Vignetting only appears
at the widest setting.
