Hi!

Got back the test shots today from the stuff I dug out of the closet.
Stereo-tach beamsplitter on an Olympus 85mm f/2 lens, Olympus OM-10.
Kodachrome 64 with an 81A filter. f/11 and f/16. +2 closeup lens to
focus on the subjects at the point where they were centered on the
left and right sides.

Flower shots were technically a success, although the blossoms I found
when out cruising during the drought we have been having were less than
perfect. Depth of field is excellent and, as predicted by the ground
glass, these small apertures are just about right for having no black
band and no overlap.

I decided to test the setup on some Boston ivy. It was in the shade so
I was on a tripod and exposures were in the range of 1/2 second.
The Boston ivy shots were much more of an artistic success, with a
fantastic "ant's eye" stereo effect going back among the leaves,
and I predict they are going to be a big hit with my audience.

My centering was not quite perfect and so there is a "one-eyed"
area on either side. I think this could be reduced or even eliminated
with some judicious reconstruction of mounts to come up with a
smaller opening, but it's already 1 a.m. and I'm tired. But it
still looks good as it is, stuck into a 2X2 mount and sealed
with an iron in about 10 seconds. I love mounting beamsplitter
shots!

It was a really simple rig to put together and is pretty small and
light, considering what I might have to drag along if I used two
cameras, and much faster and easier to use than a slide bar.
