P3D beamsplitter closeup mount

Hi!

Working with the beamsplitter Boston ivy shots that I took with my
Stereo-tach/85mm lens/+2 closeup rig, I narrowed a standard
2X2 heat-seal mount by cutting it in half along the "hinge," then
staggering the halves so I had an opening about 17X27mm instead
of 17X34mm. I ironed one corner to hold the halves
in proper alignment, and then put the film chip between
the halves, adjusting it so that the ivy leaves were
perfectly centered and all the "one eye" zones were
covered by the mount. Then I ironed it shut all the way
and, working with a small, sharp scissors, cut off exactly
half of the overhang on either side, so that the mount
would once again be 2 inches wide and slip into my viewer.

This was completely successful in eliminating the "one eye"
zones and the slide is beautifully mounted--a super closeup
of the Boston ivy. If I understand correctly, there are special closeup
mounts available for Realist-format slides which accomplish the same thing.
