Me too - I once was in an antique store in a little country town
(which didn't look too promising - it was more of a pawn shop), and
I could never get past the word "stereo" with the counter tender.
No matter what I said, "stereo" meant records or phonographs. I finally
did start carrying around a trash litho card (extremely badly printed
view of the Grand Canyon) with a big "SAMPLE" written across the front
to show 'em what I was talking about.
