P3D Watkins at SFMOMA

I saw the exhibition of Carlton Watkin's photographs at SFMOMA - including
the 200 stereo cards viewable on SGI workstaions using CrystalEyes LCD
glasses.
For what it is worth, I observed:
Without exception, every one of the 200 stereo images presented on the
SGIs had elements which appeared in front of the stereocard plane.
If the 10th image viewed had contained the text "Raise your hand and
the attendant will give you $50" you would not have given away very
much money.
The stereo pair announcing the event on SGI's web page consists of
two identical images side by side. I verified this by placing the
right image on a second Photoshop layer, placing it directly over
the left image, adjusting transparency, selecting pixel cancellation
and determined that pixel by pixel, the images were the same image.
It seems that if put to a popular vote, it would turn out that
stereo photography is not so neat after all...
I was glad to have seen the show. I saw Bob Bloomberg there, but I
don't think he reads this list.
