P3D Re: Assignments
Hard to believe you can't find a "single set of stairs" in Pittsburgh! :-)
There are city steps all over the place, and one of my first stereo shots
on that original test roll was of the city steps right up the street
from St. Matthew, where I teach. I also lined some kids up on the same
steps for another nice shots. My viewers enjoyed both of these a number
of times before I pulled them out of the tray because they were not quite
up to par technically. You _will_ have to hunt for clean steps, but they
are out there. Also, use the seasons to your advantage. Shoot them in
early spring when the leaves are especially green. And snow covers up
debris marvelously well. Shadows can also work to your advantage in
some cases. Off the soapbox now, but a native Pittsburger just can't
keep quiet about city steps!
