P3D Kodachrome aging

What a great list this is! Loved Mark Dottle's "Realist in the
Closet" attachment, and so many posts are so useful and
informative, not to mention fun to read.

In looking through a large number of Realist slides from the
late 50s and early 60s, a small percentage of the
Kodachromes were spoiled by a curious sort of rot,
ranging from a flurry of cyan (or a slightly greener shade of
bright blue-green) spots, to an arbitrary spread in the
same color of what looks like dried mud, fractal-like
fissures of indeterminate scale, covering a significant
portion of the image. These problems seem to be confined
to certain rolls, and I'm curious about the cause, the result
of which seems to be one color layer's chemical instability.
