P3D Background on Viewmaster personal camera variants?

Hi all,

I came across a tan and brown Viewmaster Personal
camera at a shop recently, and was
curious about the differences between this model
and the more common black version.

Does anyone know the story behind the different
variants, or know of any online references 
where I can dig for some history?
