The brown version was done toward the end of production, as molds were
starting to wear out.
To quote the Factory foreman " The Brown crackle finish hid a multitude
of sins."

Major variations are:
Silver Top on black body ( mostly done for factory personnel )
Silver Top on brown ( ditto )
Black
Two tone brown

Also the advance change knob on early versions is 1/2 not A/B.
There are lots of small variations, I have 22 different cameras in my
collection, all slightly different.
back lock, shutter shape, red X, exposure calculator, 3 versions of
silver top finish, etc., etc. Any one in the Cincinnati area or visiting
is welcome to have a look.
