I noticed some time ago that red objects in stereo cards stand out
farther than they should when viewed with a cheap lorgnette viewer.
I always just assumed that this was because the plastic lenses did
not bring the different colors to focus in the same plane. Perhaps
our eyes, having simple lenses, behave the same way.
