Indeed, George, you are least misinformed or, at worst, misled.  We meet at 
the police station because the rent is right.  Our meeting hall is actually 
closer to the city line than to the heart of "Downtown".  It is only three 
blocks or so fron the Cathedral of Saint Peter and Saint Paul (often referred 
to as "The National Cathedral"), and less than a mile from the Vice 
President's residence.  For our humble backwater, it is almost as upscale as 
you can get.  I suspect that some people don't want to drive in because (as 
in many urban areas) parking can be difficult.
