I too started with a beamsplitter ("cheap" franka model form Reel-3D) and
eventually moved on to a Realist.  I guess I eventually gave up for a
number of reasons, the top being:

1) the "wide" division line down the middle, means I must crop more than
18x25.

2) the poor resolution on the edges of the frame.
