P3D Re: Mount Features

>not thrilled with lack of control in the RBT process either...

I am curious as to what you mean by this Michael. The RBT mounts
offer a good amount of control. Potentially they can eliminate
vertical misalignment (or offer a stepwise system to control it)
and they offer infinite horizontal adjustment with the clever
system of sliding rails. They are very quick to use and reuse.
The number of people who use these mounts for stereo projection
(instead of aluminum and glass) is steadily increasing.

Personally, what I would like to see is a mount identical to the
Ablion aluminum mount but made out of cardboard. This way I could
mount all my slides very quickly as I do now with the Albions,
then transfer the best to RBT mounts and tape the rest down and
be done! Why cardbord and not aluminum? Aluminum is (in theory)
more expensive and you risk the damage of scratching slides.
Slides really cannot stay in bare aluminum... they need an extra
protection, either cardbord or glass, which makes things more
expensive and time consuming.

Dalia sent me a prototype of an "Albion-type cardboard mount" some
time back and I liked it, but that did not fly. If it ever comes
out, I'll be the first one in line to buy it!!!
