Hi, Gabriel and Al!
No I don't think you're missing anything. It is just that there weren't
very many Nords made and sold, while TDC had a number of distributors
along with a respectable advertising budget and sold a lot of
projectors. Also, TDC had a distinguished reputation as a projector
manufacturer before building its stereo projector, and that helped its
market position. I never came across a Nord or had an opportunity to
use one, but I have certainly run into a ton of TDC's! If I recall
correctly, I believe also that Nord entered the game rather late, just
as the stereo market had begun to decline, and never reaped the benefit
of the short boom in the early fifties.
