P3D Sharing (was: sticking with beamsplitter)
>I do find that I can obtain excellent results.
And now comes the point where we ask to see some examples. There are
groups of photographers who share their work via various ways. Stereo
Realist (41x101) format has 3 folios in the Stereoscopic Society
and a bunch in PSA. Stereo prints have countless circuits. There are
also circuits for View-Master, 2x2, medium format slides, digital stereo
images, and a few more I might forget, but there is nothing I know of
for beamsplitter stereo.
>I have no interest in entering competitions. My pictures are to
>enhance the relationships in my life, and the people who view them
>are enormously pleased.
I used to take pictures for my own enjoyment exclusively. I would only
share them with my family and close friends. Later I joined SSA and
started sharing these pictures with others outside. I then realized
what a challenge it is to take a picture that will be interesting for
a wider group of people. And I have learned a lot from sharing my work
and seeing what others are doing. It is all about sharing pictures with
others. The "competition" (if present) is there only to spice things up.
Since pictures speak more than a thousand words I think it is time for
Mark to do the same. How? Start with other stereo photographers in
Pittsburgh... Go to a meeting of the closest stereo club (I think this
is in Cleveland). Mail his viewer and slides to others and accept
other viewers and slides in return. Then there is a chance that more
people will be influenced and perhaps be convinced to try beamsplitters
for themselves. Just a suggestion for consideration.
