P3D "Keepers" vs. top-of-the-cream

"Keepers" and slides mounted in RBT mounts are not the same thing. I
mentioned earlier that I cut and mounted all my slides in Albion mounts
for previewing. I then transferred the very best ones in RBT mounts
(keeping also in mind the upcoming assignments in both Detroit and
Cleveland). I kept the rest in the Albion mounts waiting to find time
to transfer them in Spicer mounts when I find time (very unlikely to come
any time soon). So the "keepers" and "success rate" is indeed very
high with the S1 (quite lower with the X4) but only a small percentage
of these "keepers" is worth entering in competitions, etc. (the rest
can be shared with family and friends.)
There are people who think that if they get only one really good picture
in a roll then this is a great success. Of course, their standards of
a "really good" picture are very high. Same with me. I'd very happy
if I get 63 really good pictures in a month! :-)
George
PS. The S1 gives 15 pairs per 36 exp roll, which is about half what the
Realist gives. So when I take 40 rolls in two weeks during vacation
that's equivalent to 20 rolls of Realist pairs which is not too
extravagant for most people (except for those who shoot 20 rolls in
10 years) considering how much it cost to get where I went, etc.
