I can get this right on my computer at home but I don't know if it will
make it over the net.

If this turned out, you can get the ae on Windows machines by turning on
the num lock, holding down the alt key, and typing 0230 on the number
keypad (not the numbers at the top of the keyboard). This character and
all the other characters for western European spellings are available
in the standard upper character set (#'s 128-255).
