Mike, I think you are confusing rangefinder with focus. The rangefinder
is an aid for focusing. It consists of a couple of mirrors, that are
linked to the focusing dial so that when the mirrors have a certain
object at a certain distance "aligned" then the focusing dial shows
the correct distance from the camera. You don't need to change the
rangefinder if you change the FL of the lenses. But you need to change
the focusing cam/gears/whatever so that the lenses are focused at
the film plane.
