Hi Charles and welcome to photo-3d and 3d!!!

Our local resident expert in cave photography is DrDave. I am
sure you will hear from him when he reads your message.

After using a Realist for his cave photography, DrDave moved to
an RBT X3 camera. He is still happily married, he reports.

There is a lot of experience in 2x2 stereo in this list and in
the stereo community in general. I am sure you will get good
advice.

Some people will agree with this, but I don't. If you use a
Realist format camera from the '50s you will have to do as much
work to mount your slides in 2x2 (regular) mounts as you would
when you use stereo mounts, IF NOT MORE. 2x2 stereo mounting is
not easy. There are more choices in terms of mounts and viewers
in the 41x101mm (stereo) format than the 2x2 format.

Whatever you decide to do I am sure will be for the best.

Good luck!
