    I don't know about the horizontal line, but on the inside channels 
    where the sprocket tabs go, there is a triangle that seems to 
    indicate "up". I also wonder about the notch on the side, what 
    is that for? Does the RBT projector use that notch?

    Like Dr. T, I use a fine point black permanent marker to write 
    directly on the white surface. I also make the thumb spot with 
    the marker. Avery labels fall off after a couple of years. The 
    markers are rather permanent, but I've found that it can be 
    scrapped off.
