P3D Rubber feett for Bakelite viewers

I'm sorry if this has been covered before. The first Realist
viewer I got (from Dr. T.) had four stick-on rubber pads on
the bottom of the Bakelite body in the corners, that a
previous owner applied. These make putting it down on a
table or whatever much more comfortable -- no worry
about scratching or sliding around. While this is a matter of
taste, and such things are no doubt availabale at countless
US hardware stores for next to nothing, I balked at the
idea of paying $4 for a set of 4 pads that weren't exactly
what I wanted, here in Japan.

I got 36 "extra tall tapered square black" pads (9 strips of
4, for $6.39, part no. SJ5523-0-ND) from Digi-Key that are
just what I wanted, about 3/4" square and 1/4" thick.
They're 3M "Bumpons" and such are available in a number
of sizes, shapes, and colors. The rubber or whatever it is
is quite "sticky" to begin with, and looks like it will be
durable and not dry out. The junctions between the pads
on each strip are perforated, but I got nicer results by
cutting them apart with a sharp knife.

Digi-Key (800-344-4539) is a pleasure to deal with,
prompt, well-organized, good prices. Here's a URL for their
selection of pads (sorry if it line breaks).

or do a keyword search for "pad" and click the
"Bumpons(20 items)" link on the results page.
The Digi-Key site has their catalog in PDF files and these
pads are in section J (p. 459). Hope this may be of some
use.
