P3D My 3D projector.

Well, I'm beginning to become obsessed with building my own Realist
format slide projector. Now, in my mind, all I'm envisoning is a simple
unit, two lenses, light source, fan and manual slide insertion. This is
simply for home use.

I first started thinking about this the other day as I have two Kodak
Carousel projectors that I really don't use for much. I thought about
gutting them and using the parts in a home-built housing. Then, I
discovered my Kodak 4600 Carousel projector has the lamp/heat
glass/condenser lens combo in an easy to remove self-contained
assembly. So, two of these, two lenses and a housing with a slot for
the slides and presto, a 3D projector.

Of course, the first problem is I only have one 4600 and the other two
"junk" projectors didn't have such far-sighted engineers (i.e.
everythings on one assembly). The great thing is that I've seen several
of the 4200/4400/4600 projectors offered on eBay so maybe procurring a
couple of "project" projectors won't be that difficult.

My ultimate goal is to develop a 3D projector using modern day parts for
around $200.00 and preferably less. I admit that I am very uneducated
about 3D projection and, as such, would appreciate any and all
suggestions regarding this endeavor.

Thanks,
Ron

Oh, one other point. If I win my bid on the Nord on eBay, well, so much
for building my own :-) :-)
