For me, art is for our edification, to help us become the best we can be.  The edification might be in the form of the beauty of the technique, not just the
subject matter.  Yes, sometimes we need to to experience difficult challenging things in order to grow (and some of us aren't ready for some challenges), but
in this world where people are more concerned about expressing themselves, than helping their fellow man, "Art" has become primarily a means of self
expression without regard to the deleterious effect it may have on some.

Some forms of art, like nudes, are like a glass of wine, for some it is a gift from God that makes the soul glad, for others it is the first step towards
total dissipation.
