P3D Alt to what?

It is absolutely impossible to define what Alternative is without some
baseline comparison. In the Alt Print Group I was a member of, defining
what ALT photography was/is was and is impossible. Alt means alternative.
Alternative to what? I think that no one can define this without someone
else disagreeing.

I also think the medium used can alter this. For example, if you see a nice
photograph of a nude woman, to many it is immoral or perhaps pornographic.
The people who would claim this would possibly think a wonderful painting
of a nude is not. There is no difference - nude is nude. Some might think
nude photography is in the genre of Alternative photography, forgetting
that great painters have painted nudes for centuries.

I would suggest that all you stereo photographers on this list take
photographs of whatever interests you. Experiment and try it. I have
confidence that youre images will be accepted and whatever criticisms there
are will be voiced. Forget about what is Alternative or not. Remember,
everything presents and alternative to something else.
