P3D Realist 5p modification to 7p

subject: Realist 5p modification to 7p
In order to upgrade a Realist from 5p to 7p, one has of course to make
the
two window apertures wider. However due to the fact that the two 5p
windows
are not very far apart, most of the widening must be done on the
exterior
side of each window. The consequence is that the two resulting 7p
windows
are not centered on the optical axis of the lenses any more. So the
left
and right images will not cover the same area (won't it?), and the part
gained in the widening process of the left window will record
information
which will not be recorded by the right window one (and vice-versa).
Since this information does not appear on each component of the stereo
couple, it will not help to see it in 3-D,... Am I missing something?
Will
it be necessary to trim this info (in this case, why widening the
windows in
the first place?) Or is it necessary to modify the orientation of both
lenses in order to make each one centered on its window?
Please correct me! (-:
