On 15 Oct 99, at 20:30, Charles Pflanze asked about Nord projectors.

I have one and it works. The fan is loud and the lenses are relatively
long focal length, so you need a lot of working room to fill a decent size
screen, but I think those aspects are both typical of '50s stereo
projectors. It's my first stereo projector, so I don't have a lot of
personal experience for comparison, but I think the optics are decent and I
am impressed with how bright the image is (in a darkened room) when the
projector is about 20 feet from the screen.

One thing I don't like is the extreme simplicity of the slide carrier. You
put the first slide in and slide it into place. Then you put the second
one in and slide it in; it pushes out the first one which falls out of the
carrier on the other side. You have to set up the projector so that you
have access to both sides, one side to insert slides, the other to catch
them as they fall out. But I guess this is typical of the '50s projectors
other than the more expensive TDC with the Selectron magazine feed (right,
folks?).

Alex Klein remarked that they heat up the slides. I turned mine on and put
a slide in it while I wrote this, and I must say the slide doesn't seem
very hot to me, but that's just subjective.
