P3D 1/30, not a rule?

I hope all this discussion of bases and rules and charts and lenses and
near and far etc. isn't confusing newcomers to the sport.
Stereo photography can be technical, but doesn't need to be. If you
have a stereo camera take pictures with it. 90% should be fine in a
viewer. A few may not project correctly, but can be brought close with
adjustments during mounting. If you are using a single camera on a slide
bar for close-ups, I like the 1"=1mm rule (oops! idea) (1/25). 10 inches
equals 10mm. Experiment with varying bases if you like. The background
will normally be out of focus and not a problem. Hyperstereos? Search
for an area with no foreground, align a landmark somewhere in the
viewfinder, walk 5-10 ft. align the landmark, shoot, walk another 10 ft.
, shoot. When you get your film back pick the pairs that work (some or
most won't). If you remount, you can adjust the framing.
After all why do we shoot roll after roll of film. So that we get a few
views that are great, and a lot of views that are interesting. Unless
you have a RBT. That's another story (which I wish I could tell). 8~)
