Just as a thought experiment, think about this "what if". What if a
consortium of large companies including eyeglasses companies, "Style"
companies, mainstream distributors including Wal-mart, K-mart, and
all through Saks 5th Avenue got together on a project including a
large advertising budget. All focused on the LCD projection scheme
above. Think of all the styles the shutter glasses could come in if
stylists went wild ("retro 50's look horned rim" versions, etc). May
seem horrible NOW to have to wear shutter glasses to watch a presentation,
but how many people wear eyeglasses without thinking a thing about it?
If the PR machine made it the "in thing", I think it'd fly (assuming
technical things behind it like creating eye-comfortable source material).
It's all a matter of perception, and that can be and is manipulated. :-)
