P3D Pro vs 1 Hour Labs

What is the difference? In many cases the equipment is the same. Chances
are the pro labs print your negs just as lousy as any 1 hour
lab........but they slow down the volume of work, charge more money, and
allow time for the inevitable " redo's" until they achieve the higher
quality standard. A decent 1 hour lab will rival a pro lab quality if
they had the time, desire, and management approval to achieve the
highest standard. Many pro labs offer an array of profitable services
besides c-41. Most 1 hour labs depend on c-41/prints for most of the
income. Work volume, cutting costs ( redo's) and lower pricing is the
strategy here. If you are patient and do some searching, you'll find a 1
hour lab that will produce excellent results. Again....stay away from
peak days/times. Process 1-2 rolls at a time........George, don't take
34 rolls of print film, your Guide To The Realist book, and a mounting
template into your neighborhood lab. :-) :-)
