P3D Contemplating 3D

You now.....I've been thinking of all the $$$ I've spent on stereo.
Compare that to the same dollars spent in 2D. Instead of the X4 and
Realists I could have an F5, or F100 and some lenses......or the new
Nikon D1........state of the art digital SLR. As I review some of my
favorite stereo shots, some were, or could have been taken with a slide
bar! Compare the viewers ( Red Button, Berezin Brum, Berezin Pin-sharp,
std Brum and 30 SV-1's) to the stock of professional films I could have
purchased, and prints I could have enlarged etc. Factor in the Vivid 116
projector and 2 screens and were talkin lenses, flashes and other toys
for the 2D rig. You know if you seperate the X4 back to single Conena
cameras.......you would now own 2 junk cameras :-) The fact is the
Cosena lenses are no match for my Minolta or Nikon lenses...not even
close! But the MARRIAGE of these 2 cameras is a sum greater than it's
parts.
My marriage with stereo photography is now beyond the " honeymoon" stage
and I'm still in love......it's just that reality is setting in......we,
not they, are the crazy ones. I'll bet that " 7 year itch" stage is a
real bitch!? :-)
