Of course he is right. There are many times when having to load up 
equipment in big waterproof boxes, lug them around, find a place to 
set them down, unload them for a photo, and then do it all over 
again is just not appropriate. Just ask any of the people who no 
longer will cave with me if I have a camera along *{;-)

I know people who won't even put their Realist in an ever-ready 
case because it takes too long to get out!

But, if you are NOT taking your stereo camera some place just 
because you are fearful of hurting it, I say don't. There are too many 
ways to protect it to have to give up getting that once in a lifetime 
shot.

As I have said before I have taken both my Realist and RBT in 
caves, backpacking in the desert in the summer, snow-shoeing in 
the mountains in the winter, in the saddle bags on my Harley, 
through all the rides at Disney World, at the beach, etc. You get the 
picture - Pun Intended *{;-)
