For years I have been telling people to do the exact opposite of what you
are saying John! Buy it now that you are young and have the enthusiasm.
"Tomorrow" you will have the money but not the enthusiasm. Buy it and
enjoy it NOW and you will not regret it.
I choked on the price of a MACRO lens which was more expensive than my new
Minolta X-700 body in 1987. But I bought it instead of the standard 50mm
lens. It was the best thing I have ever done! I used this lens in
hundreds of projects, from copying slides, to photographing my research, to
taking stereo pairs of small objects. I still use it and it is my favorite
lens!
I thought I was spending a lot of money for a good Realist red button
viewer which cost more money than my Realist camera in 1988. I still have
this viewer and enjoy it every day.
Of course, I choked on the price of the RBT S1 but I bought it last
November. It is the best piece of stereo equipment I have ever used and I
so glad I bought it!
"Tomorrow" my children will be adults and I will be an old man. These
years will never come back again. Most probably I will have more money...
but my desire and my subject will not be there.
And, guess what? The price of an RBT S1 most probably will not go down.
And if I had followed your advice, I would not be typing this note in my
computer because I'd had no computer. Prices will go down tomorrow, but I
want to be here with you TODAY!
Have a nice day and a great Thanksgiving!!!
