I bought a refurbished VRSurfer kit for my Windows NT box when the sale
on EBay was announced here. I knew before I bought it that the VRex
software didn't support NT, but for $20 I figured I couldn't lose.

After some experimentation, I found that if I manually set my display to
interlaced mode using the "DIsplay" control panel, the glasses would
sync up and I could view full-screen JPS files using DepthCharge. If
VRex would invest a little time in researching the use of DirectX to do
their screen-mode switching, they could be universally compatible. (I
play and have played many state-of-the-art games that use DirectX on NT
and they work just fine, and DirectX is available on Windows 95 and 98
as well.)

They are a bit heavy, mainly because to be wireless they must contain a
battery and a circuit board.

Remove the grey distorted-plastic cover, it is only held on by five
latching pins, and cement the rubber nose cushion directly onto the
glasses. Just be careful not to touch the LC shutters. That removes a
portion of the weight, and all of the distortion. :-)
