P3D lenticular again

I shot only 2 rolls with an Imagetech cheap camera & liked the results, but
I gave up 'cause it's difficult for me to have the film printed. The only
lab in my country (Italy) is too often short of paper (they import it from
the USA) & the main 3d source in Europe (the "Widescreen" in UK) recently
stopped advertising about that service.
I even found on eBay the formerly $45,000 "small" Imagetech processor
auctioned at GB£1,000 (<US$2,000)! When Imagetech was still active, 2
printing machines were offered, the above mentioned "small" one (for 3x4" or
such prints) & a "big digital" (for 10x20") at $70,000.
My impression was the process consisted in computer-assisted
opto-electronical exposure of lenticular chemical paper, followed by
chemical processing; an obsolete technology dating from Nimslo patents.
Today's technology can allow to make relatively cheap inkjet prints on
photo-quality paper & then apply the lenticular plastic layer.
To squeeze & interlieve 3 or 4 pics isn't a problem, the main problem is to
find lenticular plastics matching exactly 1/3 or 1/4 of the printer's
resolution. If research develops in this direction, may be lenticular images
get popular!
