Any LEDs used in a viewer would either
have a diffuser or condensor lens assembly
to spread the light over the whole film
chip. So there shouldn't be any risk since
the brightness will be comparible to (say)
are Red Button viewer with a 2W halogen bulb.
I have some viewer brightness measurements
on my web page. If anyone's LED lit viewer
is brighter than EV17 then you might want
to worry:
