P3D Kansas City Stereo Club Meeting

The Stereo Division of the Kansas City Metro Photographers Association
met Saturday, Dec 4th.  Attending were Dave Williams, Bruce Springsteen,
Darren Gunderson and Lesia, from the main KCMPA group.  Several others
were not able to meet, but assured us of their support at future
meetings.

This was the first meeting since the death of John Baird, who founded
and chaired the club.  Each of us were inspired by John's dream for a
stereo club in this area and are determined to carry on his vision.  The
club had only met three previous times under John's leadership, so
really we're just getting started.

Several plans for the future came out of this session.  We will meet
each month from here on, instead of every other month as in the past. 
This was John's plan for the first of the year.  A regular meeting
location is yet to be determined, but a couple of prospects will be
investigated.  We discussed ways to promote the club for future growth,
including somehow tying in with the publicity of Science City, the new
interactive museum created as part of the renovation of Kansas City's
Union Station.  The museum includes a 3d theater (which isn't up and
running yet.)

We viewed some great slides with Darren's TDC projector, and Bruce
enlightened us with some very good explanations of stereo window
concepts.

Despite the small group, we all came away encouraged about the future of
the club.  The next meeting will be Saturday, January 15th at 1 pm.
