For eleven years now I have been carrying cameras (stereo &
mono) without a case and without a strap.  I use a camera bag
and take the camera in and out of the bag.  The camera bag is
also used to store a flash, lightmeter, batteries, etc.  Do you
really need to have the camera hanging around your neck???
